She graduated from the nationally ranked Dover-Sherborn High School in 2012 and later attended, the University of Delaware where she majored in English. As a nationally-ranked competitor, Avery has spent the majority of her life competing in the equestrian sport. As a child, she fox-hunted, and horse showed on the hunter/jumper “A” circuit up and down the east coast for her mother’s business, Redwood Farm in Dover, Massachusetts. As an adult, she spent time working for top trainers in the US, a top trade stable in the Netherlands, and even, Canadian Olympic gold and bronze show jumper, Eric Lamaze.
